Caol Ila Distillers Edition 1997/2010 - Tasting Notes

Nose
Salty and bit mineral at first, but also meaty notes. Sweetness lingering underneath. Good marinated piece of meat with earthy vegetables on the side like beats and sprouts.

Palate
Light smoke and salty notes, liquerish, sweet dried apricots, and chocolate, meaty BBQ notes, bit honey and some balsamic vinegar... Fruity sweet, the light salty notes but honey sweet, and high liquerish notes makes it a quite enjoyable dram.

Finish
Medium length finish, sweet, honey glazing on BBQ ribs a bit...

Score
7 out of 10. Very sweet, but cant get too much out of it sadly. Has some great meaty notes and combined with the fruit sweetness it is a nice dram for sure.
