The Maltman - Port Dundas 24 year old

From the Grainman comes a Port Dundas release that was distilled in March 1991 and bottled in January 2016, with an Oloroso sherry finish for 4 months. In total 282 bottled produced at 55,1%.

The nose is syrupy and has great amounts of dried fruit, rich creamy vanilla, raisin, dried cranberry, salty cashew nuts, vigs, light tobacco, dates, dried banana, cassis, raspberry, tangerine, Victoria sponge cake, toffee and red crumbly apples.

A fresh and sweet palate with a lovely amount of baking spices mixed through it. Citrus and orchard fruits mixed with syrupy dried fruits that almost make me think of some tropical fruits like mango and pineapple.

All from the nose is also detectable on the palate combined with some added layers of fruit, light nuts, cookie dough, breakfast cereals, liquerish and creamy chocolate. Medium length finish with lots of sweetness and hint of leather and demerara sugar. Scoring this one an 9 out of 10. Loving it! Thanks Andy for sharing!
